Veins are responsible for taking the blood back to your heart. Inside the veins are a series of one–way valves that help move the blood 'uphill' against gravity - much like locks in a river. When you develop varicose veins the veins dilate and the valves can no longer function normally. The Venocuff is placed around the outside of the vein and reduces the diameter of the vein - assisting the valves to return to their normal function. In many cases only one or two valves at the top of the thigh need to be repaired - the rest of the veins will return to normal function below these repaired valves
